So that All May Flourish

We exist so that the people, neighborhoods, and industries of downtown West Palm Beach may flourish.

Our City

Our City

Our Citya garden to be cultivated and cared for

West Palm Beach has a story - just like every one of us. Our city was born out of a shipwreck in 1878. A ship carrying 20,000 coconuts ran aground east of what today is Mar-a-Lago. The coconuts were planted and provided our city with its first sustainable agricultural industry.

The name of that ship was Providencia.

Beautiful coconut palms would provide shade and food for settling families, but they also attracted new investors who would build the city's infrastructure.

Out of a shipwreck, springs new life.

As our downtown came to life, her founders named her streets after plants and flowers (clematis, datura, evernia, olive, etc.). We continue to see our city as a garden that needs to be cared for and cultivated.

Our city is a gift. It forces us outside of ourselves, it challenges us to interact with people from different socioeconomic, ethnic, religious and cultural backgrounds. We meet the world on the streets of downtown West Palm Beach. Together we believe we can build a city where all might flourish.

And God, who was here before the ship Providencia, caring for the city of West Palm Beach, is here today. He knows your story. We want to know it too.

Your Story

Your Story

Your StoryOne worth hearing

Being heard is being loved and we believe your story is worth hearing, both in its beauty and brokenness. Throughout the week, we have groups of 10-15 people that meet up just to listen to each other's stories. We would be honored to hear yours.

At Providencia, we not only seek to learn to listen to each other, but we seek to listen to our own stories. Nothing gives us the freedom more than the grace of God.

Finally we seek to learn to listen to God's story that he has been telling throughout all of history.

His Grace

His Grace He Found Us

His Grace

His Grace He Found Us

The grace of God is radical. While every other system demands that you perform and live up to a standard before you can become a part of it, the grace of God says, someone has already done that for you. While shame and guilt seek to isolate and destroy us, the grace of God finds us where we are and loves us there.

Because of the life, death, and resurrection of Jesus Christ, we no longer have to hide from God, from ourselves, or from each other.

The grace of God transforms lives, neighborhoods, and businesses. It turns shipwrecks into flourishing cities.
